'Classic' visit Amsterdam tour (4 days)


In this 'classic' tour you will discover Amsterdam, the capitol of the Netherlands, in optima forma with your own English-speaking local tour guide. The local tour guide will show you the absolute highlights of this beautiful historic city. First you will become familiair with Amsterdam when you're driven around in a minivan! Then you will continue your discovery with a traditional canal ride through the beautiful canals of Amsterdam. Other highlights of your stay in Amsterdam includes a visit to the van Gogh museum, which has the largest collection of Van Gogh's paintings and drawings in the world and a visit to the famous floating flower market. Itinerary

 

 

Day 1

Arrival at Schiphol Airport. Shuttle service to accommodation.

 

Dinner at restaurant Kop Van Jut. You will be presented a lovely fixed 4-course dinner including wine or beer and water and espresso. Afterwards you can explore Amsterdam’s nightlife.

 

The Kop van Jut opened her doors in the year 2000. (anno MM) We are a small enthusiastic team who will do their utmost to make you feel at home in our Eetcafe (Small Restaurant) in the centre of Amsterdam. Here you will experience the Dutch “gezelligheid”. You can eat in the restaurant downstairs or living room upstairs, which has 14 seats. We will surprise you by the good quality of our food for a reasonable price. Try one of the locally brewedbeers or one of the famous “Jenevers” and feel welcome at Kop van Jut.

Day 2

City tour with an English speaking guide.

With a minivan you will be driven around Amsterdam to see all the highlights of the city. Then you will continue your city tour by taking a traditional canal ride through the beautiful canals of Amsterdam.

 

Visit to Van Gogh Museum with an English speaking guide.

The Van Gogh Museum is a museum in Amsterdam, Netherlands, featuring the works of the Dutch painter Vincent van Gogh and his contemporaries. It has the largest collection of Van Gogh's paintings and drawings in the world.

 

The main exhibition chronicles the various phases of Van Gogh's artistic life. Highlights include The Potato Eaters, Bedroom in Arles, and one of the three Sunflowers paintings with a yellow background, Still Life: Vase with Twelve Sunflowers.

The museum also features notable paintings by von Gogh's contemporaries in the Impressionist and post-Impressionist movements and holds extensive exhibitions on various subjects from 19th Century art history.

In the museum Drs Kallenbach will guide you with his own method of seeing and he will point out and explain the visual wonders of Rembrandt's, Vermeers, Van Goghs technique; contents, brushstrokes, details, composition, colour.

 

Dinner at restaurant Haesje Claes. You will be presented a lovely fixed 4-course dinner including wine or beer and water and espresso. Afterwards you can explore Amsterdam’s nightlife.

 

“Haesje Claes” is a restaurant situated in the historical center of Amsterdam, between the Spui and the Dam square, across from the Amsterdam Museum. The restaurant occupies six, epic buildings, in which the original architectural features such as little steps, corridors and hallways all have been preserved. Likewise, the exterior of the building is a beautiful example of traditional Dutch architecture. All chambers are breathing a century old ambiance, perfectly suited for a comfortable and casual lunch or dinner.

Day 3

Visit the famous flower market.

This floating flower market on one of the oldest canals of Amsterdam was first held in 1862. It has since developed into the best-known flower market of Holland. Whatever your favorite flower, you are bound to find it here. Merchandise ranges from the traditional Dutch tulips and geraniums to delicate indoor cypresses and manobole plants from the Easter Islands. Typically Dutch souvenirs are sold too.

 

The rest of this day you can explore our fine city by yourself. Enjoy it.

 

Dinner at restaurant Vasso (www.vasso.nl). You will be presented a lovely fixed 4-course dinner including wine or beer and water and espresso. 

 

Vasso is a rustic and cosy restaurant where you can enjoy the traditional italian kitchen with food from different regions. It is situated in the center of Amsterdam.

 

Afterwards you can explore Amsterdam’s amazing nightlife for the last time.

Day 4

In the morning/early afternoon you can enjoy the last few hours in Amsterdam.

 

Shuttle service to Shiphol Airport.
